Launched in 2014, MCB Consulting is an international management consulting company headquartered in Mauritius, having delivered over the past 8 years, 730+ assignments to 90+ clients across 5 continents, enabling them to achieve their innovation and business development goals. Its key areas of focus include the provision of advisory services – which range from strategic planning and execution to risk management – business process reviews and organisation reviews, assistance in the selection, implementation and maintenance of Information Technology solutions as well as the delivery of training services.

In light of the above, alongside our expansion strategy, we are looking for a passionate & result-focused Project Manager in our team.

 

Detailed Description

  • Determine the scope and clear business objectives of the project and the critical success factors of implementation projects (completion of the Project Definition Document).
  • Prepare and communicate Project Plan to client, project team and Client Services Management.
  • Obtain Client sign off.
  • Define a project and project scope.
  • Monitor and manage project deliverables and agreed milestones.
  • Monitor and manage all control change items.
  • Plan, manage and maximize utilization of project resources.
  • Implement and manage project Change Control procedures.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure implementation is within the agreed scope and timeframe.
  • Manage and own the resolution of all inter work stream issues.
  • Produce Project Dashboards and hold project meetings on a regular basis with the team and separately with the client to ensure that project is on track. Ensure the resource allocation file reflects the pricing as per each project estimates
  • Establish necessary communication plan taking the following into consideration:
    • Weekly Status Reports
    • Steering Committees
  • Establish relationships and negotiate with external project stakeholders (consultants, solution providers, service providers, business partners, etc.) by representing the company's interests in the most professional manner to deliver the desired business outcome.
  • Contribute and collaborate in keeping PMIS accurately updated.
  • Update travel plan on a regular basis and share in PMO meeting and to Head of Departments.
  • Prepare  and share the following reports to the CEO:
    • Project Profitability per Project/Portfolio
    • Project Chargeability
    • Resource Needs - as per resource allocation
    • Top 10 Risks and Issues
  • Ensure that risks/issues/defects are identified, documented and that mitigation solutions are devised whilst escalating to the Project Director/ Steering Committee in case of non-resolution within the project team.
  • Supervise outsourced staff on projects - in collaboration with Business and IT Management-including LTAS and LBAs.
  • Monitor & escalate budget over runs promptly along with resolution options and recommendations.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

    • PMI and / or Prince 2 certification
    • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent working experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing the delivery of complex multi-discipline projects
    • Strong and proven leadership skills
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

    • Experience delivering projects using a PMBoK / Prince 2 based project management methodology
    • Management of remote teams / resources
    • Vendor / System Integrator experience as a project manager

 

Nice to Have

    • Financial services and / or banking experience preferred
    • Core Banking replacement experience
    • Online banking portal development and implementation experience
    • SaaS migration experience
    • Experience managing teams with resources based overseas
