Brief Posting Description 

MCB Consulting is looking for an IT Consultant for its Service and Maintenance Unit (SAMU). SAMU provides support and expertise on functional and technical Production issues raised by its clients in a wide array of banking areas encompassing Credit, Accounting, Retail, Payments/SWIFT, International Trade, and on the deployment of change requests. The IT Consultant will focus on performing the technical analysis of issues and requests raised by clients, providing appropriate solutions to address those issues and requests and performing the required development work in a timely and efficient manner, while working in collaboration with Business Consultants and the SAMU leadership.

 

Detailed Description

·       Work collaboratively with Business Consultants and the SAMU leadership, to analyse clients’ issues and/or requests and provide technical solutions to address these issues and/or requests, in line with the functionalities of the Core Banking System;

·       Participate in requirement gathering sessions and provide the best technical solutions;

·       Provide realistic workload estimates for development work required by clients’ change requests;

·       Produce systematic, detailed and accurate documentation for all the design and development work performed;

·       Maintain an exhaustive and well-organized repository of all code developed and documentation produced;

·       Produce developments of good quality with minimal rework;

·       Perform thorough unit testing prior to any tests to be conducted by the Business.

·       Prepare detailed and accurate release instructions for fixes and developments ready to be released in Production;

·       Attend to tickets and requests in a timely manner as per priorities agreed with the clients and SAMU leadership;

·       Follow up on tickets raised with service providers and provide them with the required information for a speedy resolution of these tickets;

·       Review and propose enhancement on the as-is customizations done.

 

Skills and Experience:

·       Detailed technical knowledge of Temenos T24: understanding of TAFC and TAFJ environments;

·       Ability to develop in InfoBasic and Java;

·       Technical skills: application integration and/or development using SQL / .Net / Web service APIs;

·       Proven experience on T24 Implementations / Upgrades (TAFC & TAFJ environments) ;

·       T24 code enhancement, system optimization and customization as per business requirements;

·       Prior experience in a similar position, ideally in the consulting/financial sector, would be an advantage;

·       Knowledge of SWIFT, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, API’s, integration with payments platforms would be desirable;

·       Experience in AA module related deployment;

·       Added advantage for the knowledge in TWS, IRIS 2.0.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

·       Temenos Innovator certifications would be an advantage
